Sector Head Consumer Client Coverage

About the role

The Sector Head Consumer Client Coverage will lead client capability across a department, managing a portfolio of complex clients and internal relationships to deliver exceptional client experience, manage risk, and achieve revenue targets.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage the client life‑cycle and data for an assigned portfolio, identifying core themes and opportunities.
• Coordinate strategic dialogue across CIB and the broader banking franchise, contributing client insight to drive revenue growth over a three‑year horizon.
• Lead the client service team in developing client strategies, forecasting revenue, and deepening share of wallet.
• Represent Standard Bank Group and CIB at conferences and panels, sharing thought leadership on client and sector opportunities.
• Drive complex deals end‑to‑end, collaborating with product, risk, and sales teams to deliver client‑centric solutions.
• Act as first line of defence, managing risk exposures, credit limits, and ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks.

Required profile

• 12‑15 years of advanced experience in client coverage, relationship management, and executive‑level advisory.
• Proven track record leading cross‑functional deal teams and delivering revenue growth.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in financial and valuation analysis.
• Experience in risk management and acting as a first line of defence.
