Section Engineer

About the role

The Section Engineer will lead civil works within the assigned section, ensuring quality, safety and schedule compliance. This role involves interpreting drawings, coordinating subcontractors, and managing resources on construction sites in Marina, Nigeria.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and supervise civil works such as earthworks, structural concrete, drainage, and roadworks.
• Interpret drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications for accurate site implementation.
• Coordinate subcontractors, workforce, materials, and equipment within the assigned section.
• Monitor progress against the work program and resolve technical site challenges.
• Enforce quality control procedures and inspection standards.
• Ensure strict compliance with HSE regulations and safe work practices.
• Prepare technical reports, site records, and progress updates.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in Civil Engineering.
• Registration with COREN (Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria) – mandatory.
• MSc in Project Management or recognized Project Management certification.
• At least 7 years of construction industry experience.
• PMP or equivalent Project Management certification.
• HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH) is an added advantage.
