School Principal – Lead Academic Excellence

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Principal to provide strategic academic leadership for Aster Bloom Academy, a British‑curriculum school in Marina, Edo. The successful candidate will drive teaching excellence, ensure compliance with standards, and foster a nurturing environment for students and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Set and implement the strategic direction for teaching and learning, overseeing the British Curriculum delivery.
• Monitor lesson quality, assessments and overall educational outcomes, introducing innovative teaching methods.
• Supervise, mentor and evaluate both teaching and non‑teaching staff; coordinate professional development programmes.
• Manage day‑to‑day school operations, develop policies, ensure compliance with safeguarding and educational standards.
• Promote a safe, inclusive learning environment that supports character development, leadership and pastoral care.
• Engage with parents, guardians and community stakeholders, communicating school goals and achievements.
• Lead enrollment and retention initiatives, drive school improvement plans and enhance the academy’s reputation.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in education, educational management or related field (preferred) and a bachelor’s degree in education.
• Minimum 8–10 years of teaching experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role such as principal, vice‑principal or head teacher.
• Proven experience implementing and managing the British Curriculum.
• Strong knowledge of school administration, safeguarding requirements and performance‑driven culture.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational abilities, with high integrity and emotional intelligence.
• Professional registration (e.g., TRCN) and membership of relevant bodies is an advantage.
