School Nurse

About the role

The School Nurse provides essential health services to pupils and staff, ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment. This full‑time position involves first‑aid response, health monitoring, and collaboration with parents and school management.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver first aid and basic medical care to pupils and staff.
• Assess and manage minor illnesses and injuries, referring serious cases to external health facilities.
• Maintain accurate medical records and health documentation for all pupils.
• Monitor pupils with chronic conditions and administer prescribed medication.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies and coordinate emergency care.
• Conduct routine health screenings and promote overall well‑being.
• Educate pupils on hygiene, disease prevention, and healthy living.
• Ensure the school clinic is stocked with necessary supplies and kept clean and organized.
• Communicate health concerns to parents when required.
• Support the school’s safeguarding, health, and safety policies.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by school management.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Midwife (RM) or equivalent nursing qualification.
• Valid practicing licence.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant nursing experience.
• Experience in a school, clinic, or pediatric setting is an advantage.
• Knowledge of first aid, emergency response, and child healthcare.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient and professional demeanor.
