Country Representative – Nigeria

About the role

PSI seeks an experienced, visionary, and strategic Country Representative (CR) to lead PSI Nigeria into its next chapter of transformative impact. This critical leadership role requires a bold individual who can navigate high‑level representation, strategic program leadership, technical stewardship, and people management.

Key responsibilities

• Cultivate and secure funding opportunities across bilateral, multilateral, philanthropic and private‑sector sources, and lead proposal development.
• Provide visionary and strategic leadership to align PSI Nigeria with national health priorities and the organization’s global mission.
• Ensure compliance of all activities, perform risk assessments, and implement audit recommendations.
• Oversee program budgets, financial reporting, and internal controls to meet donor and PSI standards.
• Develop and enforce administrative policies, promote an ethical, diverse, and inclusive workplace, and ensure staff safety and security.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• At least 10 years of senior‑level leadership experience in public health or development programs in Nigeria or similar contexts.
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience.
• Proven ability to navigate political and donor environments, engage senior government officials, and lead high‑stakes negotiations.
• Strong track record in fundraising and managing complex donor portfolios (e.g., USAID, Gates Foundation, Global Fund).
• Fluency in English with excellent writing skills.
