Sales Merchandiser

About the role

The Sales Merchandiser will ensure product displays are attractive, stocked, and aligned with brand planograms in retail outlets across Kano. You will work closely with store managers to maximise shelf visibility and support promotional activities for fast‑moving consumer goods.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, and optimise product displays and end‑caps according to planograms and brand guidelines.
• Monitor stock levels, rotate inventory using FIFO, restock shelves, and flag slow‑moving or expiring items.
• Build strong relationships with store managers to secure prime shelf placement and negotiate promotional display space.
• Track inventory movement, record out‑of‑stock instances, and report sales trends, competitor activity, and pricing changes.
• Execute promotional campaigns, place point‑of‑sale materials, and ensure accurate promotional pricing and labeling.

Required profile

• Minimum OND in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in retail, sales, merchandising, or FMCG environments.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with good negotiation skills.
• Basic numerical and analytical aptitude with high attention to detail.
