Sales Assistant

About the role

The Sales Assistant will be the front‑line representative of Nef Food Market Limited, ensuring customers receive friendly, accurate service while supporting the smooth operation of the outlet. This role combines direct customer interaction, order processing, and stock handling in a fast‑paced retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome customers, provide product information, and guide purchasing decisions.
• Process orders received via WhatsApp and other approved online channels, confirming availability, pricing, and delivery details.
• Pick, weigh, pack, and prepare orders for delivery or collection, coordinating with dispatch riders.
• Handle cash, POS, and bank‑transfer payments, issue receipts, and ensure payments use authorised channels.
• Record daily sales and payments accurately.
• Maintain tidy product displays, shelves, freezers, and storage areas.
• Monitor stock levels, report low or damaged items, and assist with receiving and arranging new stock.
• Participate in periodic physical stock counts.
• Respond promptly and politely to customer enquiries and complaints.
• Promote products and suggest suitable alternatives.
• Perform other reasonable duties to ensure smooth outlet operation.

Required profile

• Minimum qualification of an Ordinary National Diploma (OND).
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar sales or retail role.

Required skills

• Proficiency with POS systems.
• Familiarity with WhatsApp for order processing.
