Retail Salesperson / Store Clerk

About the role

The Retail Salesperson / Store Clerk will join African Things’ Lekki store, greeting walk‑in customers, promoting the brand’s African‑inspired lifestyle products and ensuring a smooth sales process. You will be the front‑line representative, handling transactions, maintaining stock records and keeping the store presentable.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome customers, advise on product features, pricing and customisation options.
• Drive sales by actively promoting items, upselling and meeting monthly targets.
• Process payments, issue receipts or invoices and prepare orders for delivery or collection.
• Maintain accurate stock records, monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies.
• Ensure the store layout is clean, attractive and organised.
• Perform opening and closing procedures and safeguard store assets.
• Handle customer enquiries and complaints professionally.
• Update sales and inventory data using company systems.

Required profile

• Minimum OND, NCE or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in retail sales, customer service or inventory management is an advantage.
• Strong communication and customer‑service orientation.
• Good numerical and record‑keeping abilities.
• Detail‑oriented, reliable and able to work with limited supervision.
