Research & Development Officer

About the role

Armorsil West Africa is seeking a motivated Research & Development Officer to lead the creation and improvement of food products such as seasoning cubes, powders, spice blends, sauces, and marinades. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to bring innovative formulations from concept to market.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new seasoning cubes, powders, spice blends, sauces, marinades, and related food products.
• Improve existing formulations to enhance taste, quality, shelf life, and profitability.
• Conduct laboratory and production trials for both new and existing products.
• Perform sensory evaluations and product performance assessments.
• Research market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor offerings.
• Identify opportunities for product innovation and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, Procurement, and Sales teams to ensure successful commercialization.
• Carry out shelf‑life studies and product stability testing.
• Troubleshoot formulation and quality issues.
• Ensure compliance with NAFDAC and other regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation of formulations, trials, specifications, and development activities.
• Support cost‑optimization initiatives through ingredient and process improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum B.Sc. degree.
• At least 4 years of experience in a similar food product development role.
• Mid‑level professional with proven ability to manage multiple projects.

• Regulatory compliance knowledge (NAFDAC).
