Release and Configuration Manager

About the role

Access Bank Plc, a full-service commercial bank listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange since 1998, is hiring a full-time Release and Configuration Manager based in Lagos. The role follows a hybrid work model, combining on-site presence with some work-from-home flexibility. It covers planning, coordinating and managing software releases across multiple environments so that deployment schedules match business and technology priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee configuration baselines and maintain configuration repositories, with accurate documentation of system changes.
• Collaborate with development, QA and operations teams.
• Monitor release risks and issues and implement best practices in software configuration management.
• Continuously improve release processes and adhere to governance standards.
• Support audit and compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related field.
• Software development experience or background, enabling collaboration with engineering teams and understanding of development lifecycles.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally, manage multiple releases and priorities, and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Background in banking or financial services, and familiarity with regulatory and security requirements, is an advantage.

Required skills

• Configuration management and software configuration management, including baselines and version control across environments.
• Release management, with experience planning, coordinating and executing releases in complex enterprise settings.
• Analytical skills to assess release impacts, troubleshoot configuration issues and use data-driven insights to improve processes.
• Experience with CI/CD tools, version control systems (e.g. Git) and IT service management frameworks (e.g. ITIL) is highly beneficial.
