About the role

St. Dominic Catholic Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its clinical team. The role involves delivering high‑quality patient care, supervising junior staff, and supporting the hospital’s commitment to patient‑centered services. Candidates must demonstrate strong clinical judgment, communication, and leadership abilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in line with hospital policies and professional standards.
• Conduct patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed.
• Assist physicians during procedures, emergencies, and ward rounds.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and patient records.
• Educate patients and families on disease prevention, treatment plans, and healthy lifestyle practices.
• Supervise and mentor junior nurses, nurse assistants, and student nurses.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control protocols.
• Collaborate with doctors, pharmacists, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuous professional development.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) qualification; Registered Midwife (RM) or Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.NSc) is an advantage.
• Valid Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) practicing license.
• Minimum five (5) years post‑qualification clinical experience in a reputable hospital.
• Experience in areas such as A&E, ICU, theatre, maternity, general or medical/surgical wards is beneficial.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Life Support (ALS/ACLS) certification (preferred).
