Regional Security Advisor

About the role

The Regional Security Advisor will support Pretoriom Consulting’s operations across African markets by providing in‑depth security analysis, community insights, and risk assessments. This part‑time position requires field research, stakeholder engagement, and the preparation of actionable reports for internal and external audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research on regional security, local governance, and community dynamics.
• Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, community leaders, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor security, trade, and socio‑political trends, delivering timely reports and recommendations.
• Plan and execute safe field visits to verify local conditions.
• Support operational planning for business activities, ensuring alignment with local risk considerations.
• Prepare clear briefings, presentations, and reports for diverse audiences.
• Collaborate remotely with international teams while maintaining local situational awareness.

Required profile

• Based in Africa with strong knowledge of regional security and tribal dynamics.
• Familiarity with NGO operations, humanitarian contexts, or community engagement.
• Experience coordinating with local authorities, businesses, or community leaders is desirable.
• Understanding of trade, logistics, or commercial operations is an advantage.
• Willingness and ability to conduct field visits safely.
• Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self‑motivated, reliable, and able to work independently in a remote environment.
