Real Estate Legal Officer

About the role

The Real Estate Legal Officer will handle drafting, reviewing and negotiating real estate and commercial property agreements, providing legal advice on acquisitions, disposals and financing while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate leases, sales and management contracts for real estate and commercial properties.
• Conduct due diligence on properties and support risk assessment for transactions.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, manage documentation and resolve legal disputes.
• Contribute to internal policies and processes to strengthen property portfolio management.

Required profile

• Law degree (LLB) with a license to practice law in Nigeria.
• Experience in real estate or commercial law, advisory or transactional work.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and legal drafting abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate across functions and manage multiple matters simultaneously.

Required skills

• Legal drafting of real estate contracts.
• Financial analysis related to property transactions.
• Knowledge of local property laws, land registration procedures and regulatory frameworks.
