Quality Control Officer – Pharmaceutical Lab

About the role

Shalina Healthcare is seeking a Quality Control Officer to join its Global Supply Organization in Lagos. You will be responsible for ensuring that raw materials, in‑process and finished products meet the highest quality standards in a fast‑moving pharmaceutical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform analysis of finished goods, raw materials, packaging, stability, validation, water, and hold‑time studies.
• Maintain and monitor compliance with current Good Laboratory Practices (cGLP) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
• Sample and test incoming raw and packaging materials.
• Calibrate laboratory equipment and monitor temperature‑controlled devices.
• Prepare SOPs, protocols, and reports for QC projects.
• Report out‑of‑specification (OOS), out‑of‑trend (OOT), deviations, and change controls.
• Analyze and report process validation samples, customer complaints, vendor and investigational samples.
• Enter quality data and results into SAP and maintain analytical data sheets.
• Prepare volumetric solutions, reagents, working standards, and manage chemical inventory.
• Ensure laboratory housekeeping and perform trend analysis of product data.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in a pharmaceutical Quality Control laboratory.
• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Industrial Chemistry or a related life‑science discipline.

Required skills

• Knowledge of cGLP and cGMP standards.
• Proficiency with SAP for data entry.
• Strong Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience with chromatographic techniques and good chromatographic practices.
• Ability to calibrate laboratory equipment and maintain calibration schedules.
