Quality Control Engineer – Concrete Testing

About the role

We are seeking a Quality Control Engineer to manage concrete testing activities for our construction projects. The role involves conducting laboratory tests, accurately recording results, and communicating findings to the batching team to ensure mix quality. This full‑time position is based onsite in Marina, Nigeria.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct concrete slump tests and record results accurately.
• Collect and prepare concrete samples for laboratory analysis.
• Perform compressive strength tests on concrete cubes at specified curing intervals.
• Carry out aggregate testing, including sieve analysis and moisture content determination.
• Communicate test outcomes to the batching team for mix adjustments.
• Maintain the laboratory, curing tanks, and testing equipment in a clean and safe condition.
• Inspect testing equipment regularly and report any faults or maintenance needs.
• Keep up‑to‑date laboratory records, test reports, and quality documentation.
• Ensure all testing complies with company standards, procedures, and industry regulations.
• Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and use appropriate PPE.

Required profile

• National Diploma (ND) in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in concrete quality control, laboratory testing, or construction materials testing.
• Experience in a ready‑mix concrete or construction materials laboratory is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical abilities.
• Good documentation, record‑keeping, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
