Public Policy & Government Relations Intern

About the role

This internship supports the Public Policy and Government Relations (PPGR) team through work in socio-economic research, content creation and project coordination. It helps drive policy analysis, build thought leadership and ensure departmental initiatives are delivered, while managing reporting requirements, coordinating stakeholder engagement and producing digital content.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the planning and execution of socio-economic studies and the preparation of related reports.
• Deliver research, drafting and editing services for the PPGR team.
• Compile and manage documentation and data for ongoing projects.
• Support project management and keep communication channels open with government entities.
• Help design and roll out new programs, initiatives and strategic projects.
• Aid policy evaluation, strategic reviews and the development of thought leadership materials.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement and help facilitate meetings.
• Generate and publish weekly social media content on LinkedIn and Twitter following approved topics and review protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Proven ability to conduct and support socio-economic research and analysis.
• Experience in project management and coordination of team initiatives.
• Familiarity with government relations and public sector engagement processes.
• Competence in policy analysis and contribution to strategic reviews.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing project needs and complete ad-hoc tasks.

Required skills

• Strong writing, editing and content creation skills, especially for digital platforms.
• Social media management, specifically LinkedIn and Twitter.
• Stakeholder management and meeting facilitation.
