Project Manager – Solar Projects in Nigeria

About the role

TotalEnergies is launching its solar operations in Nigeria and is looking for a dynamic Project Manager/Technical Sales professional. You will lead the end‑to‑end delivery of solar projects while driving new business opportunities in a fast‑moving, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage multiple solar projects from concept to commissioning, ensuring safety, budget, schedule, quality and documentation compliance.
• Conduct feasibility studies, design preliminary solar solutions and prepare technical proposals to win new contracts.
• Analyse contractor bids, negotiate terms and oversee procurement of equipment and services.
• Navigate Nigerian permitting processes and ensure full regulatory compliance.
• Enforce TotalEnergies’ HSE policies and promote a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with internal engineering, permitting teams and external stakeholders such as clients and contractors.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of project management experience in solar energy projects (rooftop, ground‑mount, carport) up to 50‑70 MWp.
• Degree in engineering or a related field from a reputable university.
• Proven experience working in the Nigerian market, familiar with local electrical norms, renewable‑energy regulations and construction codes.
• Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation and presentation abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Project, AutoCAD, PVSyst, Meteonorm and SolarGIS.
• Technical knowledge of low & medium voltage point‑of‑connection projects.
• Experience with hybrid solutions incorporating Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) is a plus.
