Programme Officer - Y-CLAP Initiative

About the role

The Programme Officer is a key coordinator for the Y-CLAP initiative, managing day-to-day operations so that all programme activities run successfully. The role aligns participant engagement, facilitator schedules and logistics with the approved work plan, quality standards and strict deadlines, supporting high-impact civic leadership training.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the execution of the Y-CLAP work plan and manage the full lifecycle of participant involvement, from recruitment and onboarding to ongoing engagement.
• Maintain accurate records in participant databases and programme management systems.
• Liaise with facilitators, mentors, guest speakers and technical experts, and facilitate the three-week Civic Leadership & Advocacy Academy, including learning assignments and activities.
• Assist in selecting and onboarding the 10 Civic Fellows and handle logistics for the Advocacy Design Lab.
• Prepare for and support the Civic Leadership Convening on 22 October, and facilitate post-convening mentorship and advocacy implementation.
• Manage communication with participants, partners and stakeholders, monitor progress against timelines and deliverables, and coordinate procurement, administration and logistics.
• Report operational challenges to the Programme Manager, draft reports and meeting minutes, and work with Communication and Monitoring & Evaluation officers on programme data.

Required profile

• Proven ability to deliver programme components on time and to a high standard.
• Strong track record in managing participant engagement and retention.
• Demonstrated competence in coordinating complex logistical and administrative tasks.
• Experience delivering training academies and design labs, and in running convenings and events.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with diverse stakeholders and to meet all planned outputs.
