Program Associate - Safeguarding Children Initiative

About the role

The Program Associate plays a key part in the Safeguarding Children Initiative (SCII), helping plan, coordinate, run and document its initiatives. The role supports the successful delivery of projects, engages meaningfully with stakeholders and contributes to the organisation's mission. It is a full-time position based in Maidugui.

Key responsibilities

• Project planning and implementation: help develop work plans, schedule activities and track progress; carry out tasks within approved budgets and strategic plans; act as a liaison with community stakeholders, implementing partners, government bodies and beneficiaries; organise workshops, training sessions and community gatherings; monitor timelines and report implementation hurdles to supervisors.
• Documentation and reporting: keep records such as program files, attendance logs and activity reports; contribute to activity reports, meeting minutes and program updates; record successes, challenges, lessons learned and new opportunities; help prepare presentations and reports for management, donors and partners.
• Stakeholder engagement: communicate with beneficiaries and community groups, help identify community needs and collect feedback, and champion inclusive participation, safeguarding principles, accountability to affected populations and respect for beneficiary dignity.
• Administrative support: manage logistics for program events, take part in team meetings and planning sessions, and carry out other reasonable program duties as directed.
