Production Pharmacist

About the role

Vixa Pharmaceutical Co Ltd, a household name in Nigeria with over 150 staff and more than 100 registered products with NAFDAC, is recruiting a full-time Production Pharmacist in Lagos. The role oversees efficient, compliant and cost-effective manufacturing of pharmaceutical and cosmetic products in line with cGMP, NAFDAC and company SOPs, aiming for quality, timeliness and zero regulatory violations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and run daily and weekly production schedules according to the approved production plan, and supervise dispensing, manufacturing, filling and packaging.
• Ensure Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR) and Batch Packaging Records (BPR) are accurately filled and reviewed.
• Review and authorise production documentation, and prepare daily production, yield and variance reports.
• Train, coach and supervise the production team, enforce discipline and conduct performance appraisals.
• Maintain accurate records of production, wastage and efficiency.
• Ensure 100% compliance with cGMP and company SOPs, including hygiene and gowning, and collaborate with QA/QC on in-process checks and line clearance.
• Handle deviations, change controls and CAPA, and prepare for NAFDAC, SON and other regulatory audits.
• Control wastage, yield variance and overtime, and drive continuous improvement to reduce cost and downtime.

Required profile

• B.Pharm or M.Pharm degree with a current licence from the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
• 2 years of experience in production; experience in a multi-product plant is an advantage.
• Knowledge of cGMP, BMR/BPR and NAFDAC regulatory requirements.
