Product Support Engineer (Electrical)

About the role

Velnode is an industrial process simulation platform that lets engineers learn and practice plant operations safely in a virtual environment. It is hiring an early-career electrical engineer to become its in-house product expert, supporting users, onboarding institutional clients, delivering demos and presentations, and helping run the platform day to day. The role is hybrid and full-time in Lagos.

Key responsibilities

• Master the product: understand every simulation, feature and workflow, and stay current as new modules are released.
• Support users by answering questions by email, chat and call, troubleshooting issues and guiding users through simulations.
• Onboard engineering firms, oil and gas operators, manufacturing and process-industry companies, universities, polytechnics and technical training institutes; set up accounts, train engineers, technical staff and lecturers, and act as each client's main technical point of contact.
• Deliver presentations and demos to prospective clients at events and in institutional meetings, working with the Business Development team.
• Help run the platform by monitoring performance, managing user accounts and access, and supporting day-to-day operation.
• Test new features and simulations, report bugs, and share user feedback with the engineering team.
• Create support resources such as user guides, FAQs, tutorials, training manuals and help-center articles, and provide technically accurate content to the marketing team.
• Review simulation content to ensure it reflects real-world electrical, instrumentation and process engineering principles.

Required profile

• B.Eng / B.Sc or HND in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or a closely related field.
• 0-3 years' experience; recent graduates and NYSC-completed candidates are welcome.
• Solid understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation and control fundamentals.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts simply to students, lecturers and industry professionals.
• Confident presenting to groups, in person and online; patient, empathetic and solution-focused.
• Comfortable learning new software quickly and working with web-based applications.
• Organised and able to manage several clients and tasks at once.

Nice to have

• Exposure to PLCs, SCADA, DCS or industrial automation through internships, SIWES or projects.
• Experience with support tools such as Zendesk, Freshdesk, HubSpot or Intercom.
• Teaching, tutoring or training experience.
