Product Manager - Payments & Transactions

About the role

We are expanding our B2B banking ecosystem and need a Product Manager to own and scale payment and transaction capabilities for SME customers. The role is hands‑on and execution‑focused, requiring deep knowledge of how payments work in the Nigerian market.

Key responsibilities

• Own the roadmap for payments and transaction processing products serving SME customers.
• Improve reliability, speed and success rates across multiple payment rails.
• Design and optimise payment journeys for transfers, collections, bill payments and other banking transactions.
• Collaborate with Engineering to write PRDs, prioritise the backlog and drive delivery.
• Work with Operations, Compliance, Risk and banking partners to ensure smooth processing and regulatory compliance.
• Enhance reconciliation, settlement, transaction monitoring and operational workflows.
• Analyse performance data to identify bottlenecks and optimisation opportunities.
• Lead integrations with banks, payment processors and financial infrastructure providers.

Required profile

• 4+ years of product management experience in fintech, banking or payments.
• Proven track record owning payment or transaction processing products.
• Strong understanding of payment rails, transaction lifecycle, reconciliation and settlement.
• Experience working closely with engineering teams in an agile environment.
• Excellent analytical and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Familiarity with African, especially Nigerian, payment ecosystems is a strong advantage.
