Procurement & Quantity Surveying Officer

About the role

Mshel Homes Limited is looking for a motivated Procurement & Quantity Surveying Officer to join its construction team in Abuja. The role combines strategic procurement management with detailed quantity surveying to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project goals.
• Source, evaluate, negotiate and contract suppliers for materials, equipment and services.
• Manage the end‑to‑end procurement cycle, from requisition through RFQs, purchase orders to delivery.
• Prepare cost estimates, material schedules, equipment requirements and subcontractor budgets.
• Measure and quantify completed work for progress payments and final accounts.
• Analyse and validate contractor, subcontractor and supplier claims.
• Support cost control, forecasting and reporting to the project management team.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and mitigate procurement risks.
• Assist in preparing tender documents, contract negotiations and change orders.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented professional with strong negotiation and vendor‑management abilities.
• Excellent understanding of procurement best practices and construction cost management.
• Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and maintain accurate procurement records.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and company policies.
