Procurement Officer

About the role

African Industries group is hiring a full-time Procurement Officer in Lagos (Marina). The role covers sourcing, negotiating and managing suppliers and purchase orders, with a preference for candidates living in Ikorodu or nearby areas.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and source reliable suppliers and vendors for goods and services
• Evaluate supplier quotations, pricing, quality and delivery terms
• Negotiate prices, contracts and payment terms with suppliers
• Prepare and process purchase orders in line with company policy
• Ensure timely procurement and delivery of goods and services
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, suppliers, contracts and transactions
• Monitor supplier performance and compliance with agreed standards
• Collaborate with internal departments on procurement needs and conduct market research
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations, monitor budgets and implement cost-saving measures

Required profile

• HND in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field
• 3-5 years of procurement experience, preferably in a steel plant or steel manufacturing environment
• Candidates residing in Ikorodu or nearby areas are strongly preferred

Required skills

• Strong negotiation, vendor management and sourcing skills
• Good knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management and cost control
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); ERP systems are an added advantage
