Procurement Officer

About the role

We are seeking a Procurement Officer to manage the sourcing and acquisition of construction materials, plant equipment, tools, machinery, and subcontractor services for our projects in Lagos. The role involves close collaboration with project teams to ensure timely delivery while maintaining cost efficiency and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Source and procure construction-related items and subcontractor services.
• Obtain competitive quotations, evaluate suppliers on quality, cost, delivery and reliability.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings.
• Raise Purchase Orders and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Maintain and develop supplier relationships and monitor market trends.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Quantity Surveyors and Store Team to capture procurement needs.
• Track orders, ensure on‑time delivery to sites, and resolve supplier issues.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts and documentation.
• Prepare weekly and monthly procurement reports for management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Procurement, Supply Chain, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Business Administration or related field.
• 3–5 years of procurement experience in a construction or engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment and Nigerian supplier networks.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.

Required skills

• Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience with ERP or procurement management software.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and documentation skills.
