Process Optimizer - Molding Operations

About the role

BIC World is looking for a Process Optimizer to improve the efficiency, quality and productivity of its molding operations. The role analyses manufacturing processes, optimizes machine performance and reduces waste, working closely to keep product quality consistent while meeting production and cost targets.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse molding processes to find bottlenecks, inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
• Optimize machine parameters such as temperature, pressure, injection speed, cooling time and cycle time.
• Monitor OEE and drive initiatives to improve machine utilization and performance.
• Run root cause analysis on defects, scrap, downtime and machine failures and implement corrective actions.
• Reduce material waste, improve yield and optimize material consumption.
• Work with Maintenance on preventive and predictive maintenance to improve equipment reliability.
• Support new product introductions by setting up robust molding processes and validating production readiness.
• Monitor KPIs such as cycle time, scrap rate and machine downtime; identify automation opportunities.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance so products meet customer and regulatory requirements.
• Train operators and technicians on optimized processes and continuous improvement.
• Take part in process validation, capability studies and quality improvement initiatives.
• Prepare reports and present performance, improvements and cost-saving opportunities to the Molding Team Lead.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing or polymer engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in molding operations, manufacturing process optimization or production engineering.
• Proven experience optimizing molding processes and improving manufacturing efficiency.
• Experience with automated manufacturing equipment and production systems.
• Familiarity with autonomous maintenance and quality management systems.

Required skills

• Knowledge of injection molding processes and molding technologies.
• Process optimization techniques and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Root cause analysis and corrective action methods.
• Ability to interpret production data and spot trends.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
