Principal – Growth Equity Investment

About the role

Aruwa Capital Management is seeking a Principal to lead the sourcing, evaluation, structuring and execution of growth‑equity investments that align with its gender‑focused impact mandate. This full‑time, on‑site position is based in Lagos and will play a pivotal role in expanding the firm’s portfolio across high‑growth sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Originate and build a pipeline of deal flow through relationships with entrepreneurs, intermediaries and ecosystem partners.
• Lead financial and commercial due diligence, develop valuation models and craft investment theses.
• Negotiate term sheets, coordinate advisors and prepare investment committee materials.
• Support portfolio companies with strategic guidance, performance monitoring and value‑creation initiatives.
• Contribute to impact measurement, reporting and fundraising activities.
• Represent Aruwa at industry events and stakeholder engagements across the region.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in private equity, growth equity, venture capital or principal investing.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or accounting (mandatory).
• Proven end‑to‑end deal execution experience, including origination, diligence, closing and exits.
• Strong knowledge of African markets and networks with founders, investors and sector experts.
• Sector exposure preferred: manufacturing, clean energy, financial services, healthcare, agriprocessing.
