Packing Plant Maintenance Specialist

About the role

Dangote Industries Limited is hiring a Packing Plant Maintenance Specialist for its Obajana Plant. The role supports the Head of Packing Plant in overseeing maintenance operations for cement packing and loading, ensuring proper packing and timely loading while keeping activities compliant with regulatory requirements and DCP specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all packing plant maintenance activities are carried out efficiently and on time.
• Support oversight of machine operators to ensure personnel safety and proper use of machines.
• Oversee implementation of the approved packing plant plan so targets are met.
• Ensure processes follow agreed procedures and guidelines.
• Obtain clearance from the Head of Production and the Head of Quality Control and Assurance before packing and loading cement.
• Supervise shift teams to achieve daily production targets.
• Resolve maintenance issues immediately to avoid delays and damage to cement.
• Provide leadership and guidance to subordinates and perform other duties assigned by the Head of Packing Plant (Operations & Maintenance).

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
• Postgraduate or relevant professional qualification is an added advantage.
• At least 15 years of relevant work experience, including at least 5 years at supervisory level.

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of the cement production process and of cement packing machines and their functions.
• Knowledge of best practice in packing plant operations.
• Project management and leadership skills, good problem-solving and analytical skills, attention to detail and relationship management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
