Operations Manager – Offshore Fleet

About the role

Union Vega Offshore (UVO) is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to ensure the readiness, reliability and operational excellence of its offshore fleet based in Nigeria. The role supports vessel captains and crew from shore, drives safety and compliance, and contributes to commercial chartering activities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate vessel maintenance, dry‑dockings, inspections and repairs to keep the fleet operational.
• Monitor vessel performance, fuel consumption and efficiency, recommending improvements.
• Serve as the primary shore‑side liaison for captains and crew, handling crew changes, travel, certifications and welfare.
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian (NIMASA) and international (IMO) maritime regulations, supporting audits and corrective actions.
• Assist commercial teams with chartering opportunities, tender submissions and client reporting.
• Manage relationships with port authorities, regulators, suppliers and service providers, overseeing procurement of operational supplies.

Required profile

• Minimum 5‑7 years of relevant experience in offshore or maritime operations.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Nigerian (NIMASA) and international (IMO) maritime regulations.
• Experience coordinating vessel maintenance, dry‑dockings and performance monitoring.
• Proficiency in managing crew changes, certifications and welfare logistics.
