Operation Manager

About the role

Toyapa Oil and Gas is hiring an Operation Manager in Lagos to lead and manage all operational activities across its plants, covering procurement, logistics, supply chain and maintenance. The role aims to deliver operational excellence, control costs and meet organisational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage operational activities, including procurement, logistics, supply chain and maintenance, and develop strategies to optimise productivity and efficiency.
• Coordinate resources for plants and ensure adequate stock of company products.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations and foster a safety culture.
• Monitor and analyse operational performance, identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on continuous process improvement and build relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and contractors.
• Develop and manage operational budgets and forecasts, controlling expenses while maintaining quality standards.
• Lead and mentor operational staff, providing guidance, training and performance feedback.
• Provide updated reports on operations across the plants and stay up to date with industry trends and best practices.

Required profile

• HND or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in operations management.
• Proven experience managing budgets and controlling costs.
• Excellent leadership and managerial skills, with a track record of developing teams.
• Sound understanding of health, safety and environmental standards in an operational setting.
• Relevant certifications are highly desirable.

Required skills

• Technical hands-on skill in operations, repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
• Strong knowledge of oil and gas operations, processes and industry regulations is an asset.
• Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making and analytical skills, with a strategic mindset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
