Nurse / Nursing Assistant - Community Pharmacy

About the role

A community pharmacy in Ojota and Lekki, Lagos, is looking for a compassionate, organised and customer-focused Nursing Assistant to support its daily operations. The role covers basic patient support, customer service, stock management and other routine pharmacy tasks under the supervision of the pharmacist.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome customers and help with basic enquiries and requests.
• Support the pharmacist in attending to customers and organising prescriptions for review and dispensing.
• Assist with basic patient observations such as temperature, blood pressure and weight measurements, where trained and authorised.
• Provide basic health information within the scope of training and refer medical questions to the pharmacist.
• Arrange, label, shelf and organise pharmaceutical products as directed by the pharmacist.
• Monitor stock levels, check expiry dates and report low-stock, expired or damaged products.

Required profile

• Certificate or qualification in nursing assistance, healthcare assistance or a related field is an advantage.
• Previous experience in a pharmacy, hospital, clinic or healthcare setting is desirable.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of healthcare practices, hygiene and patient support.
• Basic computer literacy and record-keeping skills.
