Non‑Nurse Educator

About the role

The Merit College of Nursing Sciences is seeking dedicated Non‑Nurse Educators to join its teaching staff. In this full‑time position you will deliver foundational and supporting courses to nursing, midwifery and healthcare students, fostering an interdisciplinary learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver lectures and tutorials for assigned courses.
• Develop course outlines, learning outcomes and teaching materials aligned with healthcare applications.
• Design, administer and grade assessments, assignments and examinations.
• Provide academic guidance, mentorship and constructive feedback to students.
• Participate in curriculum review, quality improvement initiatives and departmental meetings.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance and progress.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Sociology, Psychology, Physics, Economics, English, Mathematics) – a Master’s or PhD is an advantage.
• 2–3 years of teaching experience at the tertiary level.
• Subject‑matter expertise in the area to be taught.
• Strong command of spoken and written English with effective presentation skills.
• Commitment to interdisciplinary, student‑centred teaching and the ICARE core values.
