Network Engineer – Wireless ISP & Hotspot

About the role

Waveman Integrated Solutions Limited is seeking a technically competent Network Engineer to manage, maintain and expand its wireless internet hotspot infrastructure in Port Harcourt. The role requires hands‑on troubleshooting, independent problem solving and a commitment to delivering reliable internet services to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Configure and manage MikroTik routers and RouterOS.
• Maintain Starlink internet connectivity and integrate it with the local network.
• Deploy, configure and troubleshoot wireless access points.
• Monitor network performance, bandwidth usage and connected devices.
• Resolve connectivity, latency and Wi‑Fi coverage issues.
• Maintain captive portal and internet billing integrations.
• Investigate customer activation and authentication problems.
• Implement network security, access controls and bandwidth management.
• Document configurations, incidents and maintenance activities.
• Train and supervise junior technical staff.

Required profile

• Practical experience with MikroTik RouterOS and wireless networking.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, routing and firewall configuration.
• Understanding of hotspot systems, captive portals and RADIUS (advantage).
• Basic Linux administration and networking security knowledge.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work on‑site in Port Harcourt.
• Relevant certifications such as MTCNA or equivalent practical experience are welcome.
