Network Engineer

About the role

The Network Engineer will lead and monitor network engineering projects and technical operations for GVA, ensuring that products and services meet the required technical standards and support growth objectives. Working independently or within a team under the Engineering Manager, the role involves both design and hands‑on implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Install new Points of Presence (POPs) and data centers and maintain related equipment.
• Ensure the network operates correctly in the country of operation and design B2B solutions.
• Manage incidents on B2B client lines, provision connection equipment, and monitor SLA performance.
• Provide Level 1 back‑office and after‑sales support, capture best practices, and propose improvement actions.
• Support sales teams at client or prospect sites and assist NOC and infrastructure agents with escalated issues.
• Monitor infrastructure projects, produce progress reports, and develop network management procedures.
• Participate in on‑call rotations for network monitoring and critical incident management.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in telecommunications, computer science or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Professional certifications in computer networks are a plus.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of computer and telecom networks.
• Proficiency with TCP/IP, DHCP, OSPF, BGP and MPLS routing protocols.
• Experience in network QoS management.
• Familiarity with NetDevOps tools.
• Understanding of FTTH/GPON technologies.
• Hands‑on configuration of routers and switches.
• Good knowledge of telecom/ISP products, data‑center environments and related solutions.
