National Sales Manager – Food Division

About the role

We are looking for an experienced National Sales Manager to lead the commercial strategy, revenue growth, and market expansion for our food division across Nigeria. The role involves overseeing sales performance, managing distribution networks, and guiding high‑performing teams in the FMCG food sector.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the national commercial strategy, sales promotions, and collection processes to meet ambitious targets.
• Identify growth opportunities, open new channels, and expand the distribution footprint within traditional trade networks.
• Lead, motivate, and manage regional sales teams (RSMs, Area Sales Managers, Sales Supervisors) to achieve revenue goals and maintain coverage plans.
• Build strong relationships with principals, distributors, dealers, and retail partners.
• Oversee stock ordering, demand forecasting, inventory management, and debtor confirmations.
• Monitor competitor activity, produce monthly management decks, MIS reports, and market research insights.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Marketing, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 12 years of progressive FMCG sales and distribution experience, with at least 5 years in a senior sales managerial role.
• Proven experience scaling food brands and deep knowledge of traditional trade distribution systems.
• Strong P&L management, budgeting, and analytical skills.

Required skills

• High proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
