National Migration Health Physician

About the role
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is looking for a qualified physician to oversee the Migration Health Assessment Centre (MHAC) in Abuja, Nigeria. The role ensures efficient daily operations, conducts comprehensive health assessments for refugees and migrants, and guarantees that all medical documentation meets the technical requirements of resettlement countries.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the day‑to‑day operations of the MHAC in close coordination with the Chief Migration Health Officer.
- Conduct migration health assessments covering medical examinations, imaging, laboratory testing, vaccinations, TB management, and pre‑departure procedures.
- Identify refugees and migrants accurately, record health information on standard forms, and ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Treat tuberculosis, sexually transmitted infections, and provide support for HIV counseling activities.
- Oversee TB case management and ensure effective treatment compliance.
- Coordinate immunisation and presumptive treatment programmes in line with resettlement country protocols.
- Prepare and transmit required medical documentation and certifications.
