Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist

About the role

KPMG's International Development Advisory Services (IDAS) is seeking a Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Specialist to support its portfolio of development projects across West Africa. The role will help design, implement and manage robust M&E systems that track progress, measure impact and inform strategic decisions for a range of sectors including agribusiness, climate change, health and social inclusion.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of results‑based M&E frameworks, theory of change and gender‑sensitive indicators.
• Collect, clean and analyse quantitative and qualitative data using tools such as SPSS, STATA, Power BI, KoboToolbox and Excel.
• Prepare regular progress reports, impact assessments and presentations for donors (USAID, FCDO, EU, UN, World Bank) and internal stakeholders.
• Support grant proposal development and contribute to knowledge‑sharing activities.
• Provide technical guidance and capacity‑building to project teams and partners on M&E best practices.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in development studies, economics, statistics, public health, social sciences or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in the development or humanitarian sector, preferably in Nigeria.
• Proven experience managing USAID, FCDO, EU, UN or World Bank‑funded programmes.
• Strong understanding of results‑based management, theory of change and gender‑sensitive monitoring.
• Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
