Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

About the role

The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the successful execution of projects funded by non-governmental organizations. The position focuses on overseeing activities, gathering high-quality data, assessing outcomes and facilitating comprehensive reporting to stakeholders. It is a full-time position based in Abakaliki.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee project activities, deliverables and performance targets.
• Gather, validate and interpret project-related data.
• Perform on-site monitoring and carry out rigorous data quality assessments.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of monitoring and evaluation records and databases.
• Assist in preparing reports for donors, as well as surveys and evaluations.
• Record project achievements, key learnings and operational challenges.
• Collaborate with project teams to improve overall program effectiveness.

Required profile

• Proven experience in monitoring and evaluation within the NGO or development sector.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct field visits and maintain detailed documentation.
• Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for accuracy in record-keeping.
• Experience supporting the preparation of donor reports and evaluation studies.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams to drive program improvement.
