Mobile Application Developer (Remote)

About the role

AfriPay is seeking a full‑time remote Mobile Application Developer to design, build and maintain mobile applications that enable students and educational institutions to manage payments securely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new features and improve app performance for iOS devices.
• Fix bugs and ensure a smooth user experience across devices.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and backend engineers to translate requirements into scalable mobile solutions.
• Integrate RESTful APIs, payment gateways and third‑party services.
• Follow secure coding practices, participate in code reviews and write unit and integration tests.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and tools.

Required profile

• Strong experience delivering production‑ready mobile applications.
• Proficiency in Object‑Oriented Programming principles and design patterns.
• Hands‑on iOS development using Swift or Objective‑C, iOS SDKs and App Store deployment.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON and integration with backend services.
• Understanding of mobile UI/UX best practices, responsive design and accessibility.
• Experience with Git and agile development methodologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Fintech, payment systems or education‑technology experience is a plus.
