Mine Security Administrator

About the role

The Mine Security Administrator will oversee all security operations at the mining site, ensuring the safety of personnel, assets, and materials. This role requires close coordination with project teams, government agencies, and external security providers while residing on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise security guards, gate operations, patrols and access‑control procedures.
• Manage registration of personnel, visitors, contractors and vehicles, verifying passes, tickets and approval documents.
• Monitor ore dispatches, material movements and equipment releases from a security perspective.
• Conduct regular patrols of stockpiles, warehouses, fuel storage, equipment yards, camps and perimeter fences.
• Prepare guard deployment schedules and patrol routes for day and night shifts.
• Maintain accurate security records, registers, patrol logs and incident reports.
• Investigate and document security incidents such as theft, unauthorized access, fighting, community disturbances and attempted illegal mining.
• Liaise with project management, HR, operations, community relations, law‑enforcement agencies, NSCDC and outsourced security providers.
• Ensure compliance with site security policies and access‑control requirements.
• Produce daily, weekly and monthly security reports highlighting incidents, risks and recommendations.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in security management, criminology, business administration, public administration, social sciences or related field.
• At least two years of experience in security administration, supervision, law enforcement, military, paramilitary, mining or related industries.
• Proven ability to supervise security personnel and manage site security operations.
• Strong knowledge of access‑control systems, incident management, asset protection and investigation procedures.
• Excellent report‑writing, documentation and record‑management skills.
• Ability to coordinate with government security agencies and external stakeholders.
• Willingness to reside and work at a remote mining site.
