Medical Laboratory Technicians & Scientists – Multiple Positions

About the role

British Community Hospital and Outpatient Clinic (BCHOC) in Kabusa Village, Abuja, is expanding its laboratory team. We are hiring Medical Laboratory Technicians, a Clinical Chemistry/Biochemistry Technologist, and a Molecular Diagnostics & Research Scientist to support our multi‑specialty services.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized tests in haematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, serology, urinalysis and molecular diagnostics.
• Operate and maintain automated, semi‑automated and specialised analysers.
• Prepare reagents, calibrate equipment and ensure strict adherence to SOPs.
• Conduct PCR assays, gene‑expression studies, nucleic‑acid extraction and flow‑cytometry analyses.
• Document results, maintain quality‑control records and contribute to data interpretation.

Required profile

• Relevant diploma, degree or HND in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or related fields.
• Minimum 3‑5 years of laboratory experience depending on the position.
• Professional conduct, strong analytical mindset and respect for patient confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Haematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, serology, urinalysis.
• Automated and semi‑automated analyser operation.
• Reagent preparation and chemistry analyser use.
• Real‑Time PCR (qPCR), conventional PCR, gene‑expression analysis.
• Nucleic‑acid extraction, purification and flow cytometry.
• Data analysis, QA/QC procedures and COSHH laboratory safety.
