Mechanical Engineer – Plant Maintenance

About the role

Ensure efficient coordination and execution of mechanical maintenance activities within designated plant areas, reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Execute maintenance work on mechanical equipment and provide feedback to the Sectional Engineer.
• Develop and follow working methods, define procedures and ensure implementation.
• Plan work and resources, execute tasks assigned in the CMMS or by the Mechanical Maintenance Manager, and close them out in SAP.
• Supervise the team, conduct performance reviews, ensure quality of work and motivate personnel.
• Ensure compliance with safety rules, review maintenance tasks with planners, and manage spare parts and tools.
• Participate in critical failure root‑cause analysis and maintain documentation of permits and audits.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ hands‑on experience in a process industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of machine mechanics and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Demonstrated accuracy in troubleshooting hydraulic system faults.

Required skills

• Knowledge of CMMS and SAP for work planning and closure.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Familiarity with welding conventions and operations.
• Ability to apply Critical Path Analysis and Failure Root Cause Analysis techniques.
• Understanding of applicable safety standards and plant equipment.
