MEAL Officer – National Position

About the role

ZOA Nigeria is seeking a full‑time MEAL Officer to support monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning across its nationwide humanitarian programmes. The role is based on‑site in Nigeria and will work closely with program teams, local partners and donors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain MEAL plans, tools and databases for food security, livelihoods and WASH projects.
• Collect, validate and analyse quantitative and qualitative data using online tools.
• Produce reports, dashboards and summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate routine field monitoring visits and lead surveys or assessments.
• Ensure feedback and complaints mechanisms are accessible, safe and effective.
• Provide training and mentoring on MEAL standards and tools.
• Support compliance with donor and organisational requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Statistics, Development Studies, Social Sciences).
• Post‑graduate diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation is an advantage.
• Minimum three years of experience designing and implementing MEAL systems in food security, livelihoods or WASH projects with international organisations.
• Experience coordinating with local government stakeholders.

• Online data collection tools: Kobo Collect, CommCare, ODK.
• Statistical software: SPSS, STATA.
• Data processing and analysis.
• Report writing tailored to donor requirements.
