Material Planner

About the role

Nestlé Nigeria is seeking a proactive Material Planner to ensure the seamless availability of raw and packaging materials for production at the Flowergate Factory. You will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to keep material flow aligned with production schedules while maintaining cost efficiency and stock coverage.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor supply signals, create and manage purchase requisitions and orders, and verify delivery dates, lead times, and quantities.
• Handle material deliveries, investigate invoice discrepancies, and manage claims and exceptions.
• Maintain stock cover policies for each SKU and manage sourcing changes to minimise write‑offs.
• Develop strong supplier relationships and involve them in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Track supplier performance, report issues, and collaborate with the procurement team.
• Share best practices with peer planners and apply problem‑solving tools for process improvement.
• Oversee timely receipt and processing of vendor invoices, resolve blocked or parked invoices, and ensure payment resolution.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports such as Open PO, GRIR, and VES.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in Engineering, Social Sciences or related fields.
• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in at least one supply‑chain function (demand & supply planning, production scheduling, distribution requirement planning, or raw & packaging material planning).
• Familiarity with product lifecycle processes and factory master data management is advantageous.
