Market & Enterprise Development Specialist

About the role

The Market & Enterprise Development Specialist will join the SEPTP implementation team, reporting to the National Programme Lead. The role provides technical leadership for enterprise development, financial inclusion and market systems in the poultry sector, facilitating access to finance, insurance and market opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate affordable finance and insurance for poultry enterprises and monitor performance across bank loans, the revolving fund and insurance mechanisms.
• Support enterprises to become investment‑ready, commercially viable and improve market access, aggregation and offtake.
• Act as the primary technical link between implementation partners (clusters, cooperatives, VSLAs) and financing/market partners (banks, insurers, aggregators, processors).
• Coordinate delivery across Livestock, Partnership, Policy, Finance, Procurement, MEAL, GESI and State teams under the National Programme Lead.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years’ experience in market systems development, enterprise development, financial inclusion or private‑sector development, preferably in agribusiness.
• Strong commercial and financial analysis background, including enterprise modelling and unit economics.
• Proven ability to coordinate complex multi‑partner programmes and manage multiple stakeholder relationships.
