Market & Business Development Officer

About the role

Sensei Integrated Global Farms (SIG Veggies) is looking for a proactive Market & Business Development Officer to expand its customer base and secure reliable vegetable supplies across Abuja and surrounding regions. You will act as the bridge between farmers, institutional buyers, and the company’s operations team.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, prospect and nurture relationships with supermarkets, restaurants, hotels, processors, wholesalers and other institutional buyers.
• Gather detailed customer requirements (vegetable types, quality, quantities, frequency, delivery) and build a robust sales pipeline.
• Negotiate supply agreements with customers and farmers within approved guidelines.
• Develop and maintain a network of climate‑smart vegetable farmers, monitoring their production plans and harvest schedules.
• Track market trends, price movements, demand shifts and competitor activity, providing regular feedback to management.
• Generate new business through calls, WhatsApp, referrals, networking and on‑site visits, converting prospects into active customers.
• Coordinate with the farm and operations teams to align demand with supply and reduce post‑harvest waste.

Required profile

• Entry‑level candidate with up to 24 months of relevant experience.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to build and maintain long‑term relationships with both buyers and farmers.
• Good understanding of the local agricultural market in Abuja.
