Maritime Surveyor (Port Harcourt)

About the role

DNV Maritime Middle East & Africa is seeking a dynamic professional to join its Surveyor team in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. You will work on ship‑in‑operation surveys, mobile offshore units, and shipyard projects, ensuring compliance with international rules and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct ship‑in‑operation surveys onboard mobile offshore units and at shipyards/offshore locations.
• Certify and verify materials and components against applicable rules and standards.
• Interact effectively with shipyards, owners’ representatives, and manufacturers.
• Manage client relationships in coordination with internal teams.
• Deliver project‑oriented work, including interdisciplinary verification projects.
• Perform project control, reporting, and follow‑up within agreed deadlines.
• Plan, coordinate, and improve operational activities in line with DNV strategy, budget, and DMS guidelines.

Required profile

• Dynamic young professional with a strong interest in maritime safety and compliance.
• Ability to work collaboratively with yards, owners, and manufacturers.
• Strong client‑management skills and ability to coordinate with multiple internal stakeholders.
