Manufacturing Engineering Manager – Additive Manufacturing

About the role

The Engineering Manager will lead our additive manufacturing and engineering functions, overseeing 3D printing, laser cutting, UV printing and related production activities. This senior role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on technical oversight to ensure high‑quality output and efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all engineering and production operations, including FDM, SLA, SLS, laser cutting and UV printing.
• Prepare and optimise 3D print files – CAD modelling, slicing, support design and build parameters for various materials.
• Manage the full project lifecycle from client brief through prototyping, production, post‑processing and delivery.
• Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance of 3D printers, laser cutters and UV printers to maximise uptime.
• Drive continuous improvement in print quality, material utilisation, turnaround time and cost efficiency using data‑driven analysis.
• Lead, mentor and develop the engineering team, setting performance standards and building technical competency.
• Plan material procurement, maintain stock levels and manage supplier relationships for filaments, resins and consumables.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial, Production Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role in additive or rapid‑prototyping environments.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams in a fast‑paced production setting.

Required skills

• SolidWorks and AutoCAD for 3D CAD design.
• Slicing software such as Ultimaker Cura, PrusaSlicer or Chitubox.
• In‑depth knowledge of FDM, SLA and SLS technologies and materials (PLA, ABS, PETG, resins, nylon, composite filaments).
• Familiarity with laser cutting and UV printing processes.
