Maintenance Engineer

About the role

The Maintenance Engineer will coordinate technical issues across departments to meet factory objectives and productivity. This role leads a shift team, ensures equipment reliability, and drives continuous improvement in maintenance practices.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate inter‑departmental technical issues and conduct departmental meetings.
• Track breakdowns, OEE, and equipment history to monitor condition and review shift maintenance.
• Develop and execute daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual preventive maintenance plans, documenting all activities.
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate shift staff, ensuring competence and adherence to GMP and housekeeping standards.
• Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance with sanitary and safety audits.
• Plan, direct, install, test, operate, maintain, and repair facilities and equipment, aiming to reduce cost, MTTR and increase MTBF.
• Document plant activities per norms, conduct feasibility studies for equipment needs, and support the Maintenance Manager with additional tasks.

Required profile

• HND or BSc degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 4‑10 years of supervisory experience in a related industrial setting.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems (preferred).
• Ability to read safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals.
• Basic understanding of ISO 14001, food‑safety requirements and emergency response protocols.
• Strong leadership, communication and computer literacy skills.
