Logistics Assistant – Grain Operations

About the role

The Logistics Assistant (Grain) will support the movement of grain products for a leading food manufacturer in Nigeria. Based in Apapa, Lagos, the role ensures shipments are coordinated, documented, and delivered on time while complying with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate inbound and outbound grain shipments to guarantee timely and accurate deliveries.
• Track shipments, provide status updates to stakeholders, and resolve any delays.
• Prepare and maintain logistics documentation such as invoices, shipping records, and inventory reports.
• Liaise with transporters, warehouse teams, and suppliers to optimise logistics operations.
• Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock reconciliation, and prevent discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
• Support the logistics team in solving transportation issues and optimising delivery routes.
• Verify shipment details, reconcile discrepancies with suppliers and transporters, and maintain proper filing of records.
• Assist in preparing performance reports on logistics efficiency, costs, and improvements.

Required profile

• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Good problem‑solving skills for logistics and transportation challenges.
• High attention to detail in managing documentation.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for internal and external coordination.
• Minimum OND in a related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
